I am sure glad they are not connected or you would start your car by pumpin the clutch peddle.

yeah, I bought another motor and need to run compression test on it. I think the one piece is the starter, but I dont understand how to run power to it, or even where to run power from the starter to

The black thingee is your slave cylinder. It bolts up to the transmission and actuates the clutch via a fork linked to the throwout bearing.

thanks - can you or anyone else help me with instructions on how to run the starter to crank the motor?

looking at the starter (asusming the starter is the other part in the two pics), I cant understand how to run power to it, and furthermore where to run the wires off the starter and to where on the motor? Everyone has told me its so easy but Im at a loss

If not, are you trying to do a comp test with the engine on the floor/stand, or already in your car?

the motor is out of the car, can someone help me out? stupid me just sold my helms not too long ago, I will most likely buy another; but I would like to get the compression results today

Bolt up the starter. Us some thick cables to ground engine to neg on battery. Another thick one to the starter post ( I think it's "S") to + battery. And I think a contol wire from + batt to the small connection (M?) on the starter. If I'm not mistaken this will crank the starter over.

BTW, a comp test should be done with a hot engine. If not hot you should get a ball park figure as to the condition.
