Default Ran the 1/4mile for the first time

Zmax in concord NC had an event yesterday (Saturday) where you pay $20 and can run your car down the 1/4mile as many times as you can from 10am - 5pm. I have a few friends with carmaro's that have gone in the past but I decided to give it a try. I read up on Thursday and Friday about launching and did some "tests" in a parking lot the night before. Decided to slip the hell out of the clutch around 7k and ride it out a little. I did a total of 4 runs.

1st run was horrible. Full engaged the clutch and spun like hell. Ran a 15.2 at 97mph with a 2.7 60ft I think?? lol it was bad.
2nd run was actually my best. Reved it up to around 7k and slipped the clutch to get the car moving and slowly let it out until it engaged. With the clutch fully engaged I was at 5500rpm so vtech was just a split second away. Ran a 14.0x at 100.0mph with a 2.1sec 60ft.
3rd run was a little slower.
4th run spun like hell but still beat the civic that was next to me.

I never did a burnout just because I didn't want to wear on brakes/car and this thing is torqueless so over coming the brake's was tricky and not something I cared that much about. Always avoided the water pit as well. For my first time I'm pretty happy with my results. I'll post time slips later. Mods are just a berk test pipe and an invidia n1 dual 70mm exhaust. Also note I had ordered a k&n filter but it didn't come in on time so I had my oem filter that if you tried to breathe through you would die... yes it's that bad

Apologies if this is supposed to be in a different section.

Nice job. There is a little room for improvement on your 60' time. Your car is easily capable of a 13.8-.9 at that track with a 1.9 second short time.

Good deal man! For your first time that second run isn't bad at all I always heard that the best launch in an AP1 is to rev to 6k and just dump the clutch; but after a few of those your diff is toast

Thanks. I thought about doing more of a dump than a slip but I'd rather replace a clutch that's already at 90k miles than a diff

You don't have to use the brakes to do a burn out with the car staying in place. Just press harder on the gas pedal.
