Default What tools to get for matinence?

First of all let me say that the search function is not working for me, and I have no clue why.

Regardless, I just got a 2001 Silverstone S2000, and plan on doing the following matinence myself within the next week:

-Oil and filter change
-Transmission fliud change

Basically I have no tools, and am wondering what to get... Wrenches, torque wrench, sockets, jack, etc to be able to perform basic matinence on my car. If someone could give me a list of what I need that would be a huge help. Ideally, I want to get all of these tools at the same place (ex Sears) to make things easier. Any help would be appreciated!

These will give you some ideas:

Engine oil/filter change -- https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70348

Tranny fluid change -- https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83577

Oh, and for future reference, rear diff fluid change -- https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99995

BTW, these and many other "How To" threads are listed in the FAQs at the top of UTH.

Nice, do you or anyone have experience with different brands of tools? I am looking for some moderatley affordable, so keep that in mind. Are craftsman tools good?

Craftsman tools are very good, affordable products. Also, if you ever break anything, you take the broken piece back and they give you a new one, no questions asked, no receipt required as long as the logo is visible.

And, of course, the most indispensable tool of all:

Spell-checker

The forum spell checker seems to be getting an enema. But there's always online dictionaries:
