Default Whining noise at 30mph or above

Hi all,

I just purchased an ap1 Sebring silver few days ago. The car is amazing and I couldn't stop driving it. But there's one whining noise that really bugs me.

At cold start, the noise will come but will go away as I press the clutch pedal, and come back as I release it. The noise gets quieter as the engine gets warm. I have no clue what it is! Shifts fine, no grinds.

The same noise (from what I hear) occurs when the car is traveling at 30mph and above. It's a whining noise that is noticeable. This won't go away no matter if I push in the clutch or not. Won't go away when the car is traveling and I put it in neutral either.

Trans/diff fluids was changed 10k miles ago (P.O. provided me a receipt of proof having this done.) He said clutch is original. I have no idea what this is and would like to fix it ASAP.

Any ideas??

Thanks.

Could be the throw out bearing. They are known to be loud in these cars or it could just be worn.

Hmm I'd say it's not making knocking noises like a worn throw out bearing would make. It's more like a whining from the drivetrain. It gets louder as the car picks up speed. Here's a video of a car that I believe had the same problem.

Mine is pretty loud. Especially at highway speed it's still noticeable even with all the wind noise.

Sounds like the diff man.one of my old ones was so loud/high pitched I needed ear plugs to drive because it made my ears bleed.

Seems like its from the secondary output shaft earings. There are quite a few threads in the forums you can look it up.
