Default Whistling in Stock Intake

I want to put an intake in my car. I search this forum and tried the suggestion removing the top cover of my stock intake. I like the sound

What Im wondering about is the whistling sound. Is that the airpump? I don't think so coz the sound stays, while the pump is suppose to turn off, or is my car broken

Anyways, I think honda tuned the length and diameter. From school I learned that there are certain pipe diameters, and length for ideal flow through a duct. So it got me thinking messing with the stock length and diameter of the intake duct will mess Honda's design. Everybody agree's that the airbox is in the worst place possible but honda still put it there. What if moving it messes up there intentions.

I don't know. The more i hear the sound the more I wonder if its a function of the duct length and diameter.

I want to know, from the people that installed after market intakes, is that whistling sound still there? Was there any loss in performance what-so-ever? Also, Mugen decided not to mess with the stock tube, even Spoon didn't. How does the Mugen intake sound?
