White sparkplug, higher compression
Hi there, bought my S2k 2 weeks ago and have been loving it. Yesterday I did a compression check and got these numbers:
1:210
2:210
3:215-220
4:210
Looking at #3 sparkplug, it is whiter and has more crusty buildup than the other plugs. They are the stock plugs with 47k on them.
Normally I would take this as a sign of a clogged injector or airflow imbalance where #3 gets a little more air than the others. I haven't seen this as a common issue with s2ks so I am leaning towards the injector. Any other ideas? Something with the coil pack?

every engine can have a cylinder that runs hotter than the others, cylinder 3 could be it on this engine. White= more lean, but then again most plugs should look whitish as the majority of the time in daily driving the engine strives to run stoich. a/f ratios , which is lean. The engine only goes rich in WOT conditions. Maybe cylinder #3 has a bit more temps due to the higher compression, and location within the bank of cylinders. I had a fuel injector that was sticking, it is possible that the injector is fouled a bit and perhaps affected by the higher temps, but the only way to know is by taking it out and having it professionally cleaned and flow tested (which I did with mine). When the coilpack goes bad you will know it, they either work or they don't. If you're not up to pulling the injectors try running a bottle of Redline fuel injector cleaner through the engine, it's the strongest stuff you can get over the counter.
