Default Will a tct ever outright fail?

Ordered mine but it didnt come in yet, and now am looking forward to sitting in a crapload of thanksgiving stop and go traffic, and am just a little worried, what are the chances of the tct completely going out on me? Am i at risk for possible damage or no?

Timing Chain tensioner.

Never seen one break and cause engine damage. Just noisy at cold starts.

The noise is not coming from the TCT itself, but it is a direct result of it.

The noise is coming from the aluminum/plastic chain guide, due to a loose chain, due to a bad TCT.

It may be possible that if left unattended, it may wear on the guide prematurely.

Then you've turned a 5 minute job into a 6-10 hr job

Oooo, thanks for the vid, triumph87, and you too flush for catching my attention. I think my gf and I figured out the cause of the noise her S2000's engine has been making.
