Default Warm Start Noise, TCT? (video inside)

Right after crank you'll hear the ticking, it subsides almost immediately...within a few seconds. 90% of the time it happens when the engine is warm. In this case the car had been sitting 2hrs. In the AM when it's completely cold I don't get the sound.

If it is the TCT it only takes 15 minutes to swap the part. 10mm (of course) ratcheting spanner, Allen wrench, needle nose pliers. And a paper towel for the teaspoon of oil that comes out with the old one. I put the highly regarded Billman GenX TCT in my car while still dressed in office attire it's that clean a job. Read all the instructions first, there's a sequence involved!

What about a stubby screwdriver or flathead socket bit? What about the 8mm 1.25 bolt + wingnut?

Hoping it's TCT at least, seems to be getting a little more persistent. I've already contacted Billman for a quote & will pull the trigger if I'm sure the money is well spent.

I bought his TCT and installed it last week. It eliminated my problem, which sounded exactly like yours.

Just made the purchase tonight, will hopefully have it this coming week & will have the issue solved! Thanks for confirming.

Just installed the Billman unit myself as preventative maintenance even though my stock unit wasn't noisy. It took 10 minutes tops. Do it right the first time and get Billman's Gen X TCT.
