Default Window makes a grinding sound

Hey guys, my passenger window makes a nasty grinding sound when i roll it down. I've noticed that after a car wash or if it rains, the window temporarily goes down smooth.

Can anyone give me any advice on how to fix this? I took apart the door panel to install speakers, but I couldn't really see much of the window.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Mine did it too and what it ended up being was the rubber weatherseal on the outside, as it gets older and stiffer it makes a horrific scraping/screeching sound against the glass. I just peeled it back with a screwdriver and greased up the whole thing with shin etsu grease and it's good as new. I too originally thought it was the track or something internal, which it clearly wasn't.

It's the outer weather seal which is why after the rain or wash it goes down smooth, because of the moisture on the window. If it were the track, it would make the sound all the time regardless.

Thanks a lot! I'll go find some Shin-Etsu and give it a try.
