I've seen a bunch of aftermarket windshields that don't have the correct mirror mounting tab glued to them.

Do you have a PN#? If this is the wrong windshield mount, then is there another mirror that will fit? When the old mirror was re mounted on the new windshield, it vibrated too much to be of any use and would not tightin up. BTW this is a safelite glass job

The OEM mirror base is not sold separately from the windshield. It will have to be removed from your old glass and glued to the new one.

Don't know of another mirror that will fit.

Well it fit to the mount, just not tight as it once was. Does this sound like a wrong mount or just a improper remount job or worn parts?

Tighten the screw on the bottom of the mirror.
