I seen the diagram dude, it was no help what so ever. I mean it did help understand how the thing works but damn.
The spring mechanism when I look at it and mess with it seems to hold the plate real tight so I don't know why when I screw it the windshield piece it doesn't hold.
I feel like it's holding on but whiggles off and then you hear loud SNAP.. Meaning all this pressure and spring was holding it tight. Just seems like it doesn't grip to anything. Really weird.
Could the Windshield piece it self that is glued to the glass be worn out on the inside.

Keep me posted, but I am certain they reused the old mount from my old windshield.

I had my windshield replaced last year and I paid close attention to the mirror mount because I'm installing an auto-darkening mirror with a compass and outside thermometer. Since it uses a different mount, I was hoping to get a different mount installed with the new windshield. That couldn't be done because the mirror mount came pre-installed on the windshield from the factory.
Most standard mounts are a beveled D-shaped blank made of zinc. The mirror slips over the top of the blank and a screw pushes against the blank, pulling the beveled edge snug with the mirror side of the mount.
The S2K mount is a much larger piece and rather than being a D-shaped blank, it's more like a socket. It has a channel on the top and sides. The spring-loaded mount on the mirror side slips a round spring steel clamp under the channel. When you tighten the set screw, it squeezes the channel between this round clamp and the back of the mirror base, making it secure.
If you don't tighten the set screw enough or if you strip the set screw so that it can't be tightened, it will vibrate. I can tell you that you really have to torque that set screw down to prevent it from vibrating.
(BTW: I fabricated an adapter to mount my new mirror to the S2K windshield.)

Problem resolved, I just got new parts, spring washer, ETC and the honda parts guy put back it together. So when ever you get a loose mirror try this. BTW The parts man said this is the old[MY2000] style mount.
