winterization
Hey guys, I have been thinking about pulling my fuel pump fuse and running the car until there is no more fuel pressure. Has anyone done this? Is there any side effects, like the ecu throwing codes? Just curious.
I just remember that if you press the accelerator pedal to the floor it will cut the fuel to the injectors. Would this be a better option. I also wanted to remove the plugs and spray fogging oil into the cylinders. Would this be helpful for rotating the pistons to spread the oil.

You only really pull the fuel pump fuse on winterization on a carb setup, it is not needed on fuel injected setups. I do pull the 15amp fuel pump fuse in spring when I got to start the car so the engine is primed of oil before it fires up.
For winterization I run some Stabil in the fuel tank and I put in 3 - 4 oz of Lucas Upper Cylinder lube , then fill the fuel tank to full. I then run the car for a few minutes so it mixes and protects the entire fuel system. The Lucas Upper Cylinder lube will leave a light oil coating in the cylinders after shut down. That's just my routine.
