Default Xviper almighty, answe thy question

Ok i know the title sounds gay, but its true, this guy is a fricking honda tech expert i think.

anyway here is the details viper

When completely letting off the gass, going to a decel the car makes a "turbine" grinding sound, as if something very metallic was poked into fan blades. (shudder at noise)

It does this only when the car is IN gear. IF i put the clutch in the noise goes away. If i put the car in neutral and coast it goes away. It happens after spirited driving usually, and can occur at any time, i will go 1 month without it, then one day it will do it, next time i run the car, it wont do it at all tho. Wierd huh?

The noise is very unique, i had the honda tech manager (gunn honda) sit with me when it did it, and he had no clue what it was, said i had to pay to have it "listened to" by pros up on a lift. It does not make the noise when i accelerate, when i give it gas it makes the noise stop, however the second i let completely off the gas, it starts up that really abnormal grinding noise.

This is NOT the normal transmission wine, i know about the s2k's tranny whinning, but this sounds like sombody is shoving a metallic sheet of metal into a slowly turning blade or propellar, very very LOUD.

It keeps me up at night

Btw i have a 00' bone stock, 64k mikes no warranty.

It's a noise, and that's it. The hub of the clutch disc allows drivetrain backlash to cause rattle. Many have driven for thousands of miles and many years with the noise. It doesn't effect clutch performance.

TSB's are listed in the Library: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=275200

TSB == "Technical Service Bulletin". It's from the Honda factory telling the dealerships about known issues.

There is nothing wrong with the clutch buzz aside from the noise. Most of us with the first gen cars just live with it.
