Heck my two nicknames with the S2k guys in the area are "Zaino Guy" and "Ziptie Guy" so I love this thread. I have a drawer in the garage packed with them. All sizes, colors, you name it. I bet I have a dozen under the hood right now that have been there for several years each with no issues.

I heard the clear/white ones are the strongest. They contain no dies. Any color die supposedly makes the zip-tie slighty more brittle. They harden and crack over time. They all do really, it's just it takes the longest with the clear/white ones. Makes sense to me, I know this applies to the urethane they use for skateboard wheels. It won't really matter for temporary fix anyway. I just wanted to pass on some next to useless info.

If you want to be extra sure, a few loops of stainless steel safety wire wouldn't hurt. One thing for sure is heat won't damage that

Yeah I did the same thing...except you know that all 240's front bumpers sag once you take it off to put on an intercooler. Also I ziptied my radiator in since I broke the tabs that hold it in rusted away. ahhh I miss my 240

After you posted the pic.. the zipties should be fine. 1-2 should do that.

I used 4 zip ties to hold in my radiator on one of my cars that I totalled. I was at school in Michigan, and had to make it to Florida.. They held up no problems at all.

Hey everyone, thanks for the input! made it there, and back with no problems. Except for being extremely tired from the bumpy road.

Once again, thanks for all of your input! it really helped me be more confident
