^ Ok noted, I forget this is the forum and most don't keep up with live events. It was reported on the nightly news.

Ok so whats the suggested time frame after the event before we can discuss results safely?
I think even vintage people prefer live events over dead ones. The nightly news I watch gives viewers a warning so they can look away if it's recent. I personally don't care who won what being posted; just figured a few others might. I know people who watch/tape F1 take it very serious and get really upset if someone spoils it for them. They have a separate thread with "spoiler" highlighted in the thread title. Then there's no guess work. If you want to talk about something immediately after it happened you could start a thread Olympics Talk - caution spoiler. That's my 2 cents.

NBC is doing it again. They tape delayed the pair skating finals until mid night (West Coast time). Why can't they just broadcast it LIVE, instead of making their viewers wait?

Some of you are taking all of this too seriously Whatever NBC does, there is someone who would gripe about it....

I agree with John on the essence of the event:

I admire these extraordinary atheletes, who are risk takers and participate in many inherently dangerous sports.

The big draw for me is the rarity of it, every 4 years. Sure, you can catch hockey and ice skating and skiing every now and then but to have the whole world come together and go non-stop for 2 weeks and then not return for another 4 years is pretty cool.

Tonights coverage is pretty good. Speed skating, snow board half pipe and women's down-hill. Pretty exciting stuff.

Shaun White was awesome as usual. Didnt even need to try hard on the 2nd run but he did the flip he had been working on.

Have it on tape; haven't watched it yet.
