So, this decision took, what...three months?

A couple days ago I bought an Epson Stylus NX515 scanner/printer for on sale for $99 at Office Max. Original list was $150. It's two high marks were coloring printing and document print speed. All the reviews I read were good, especially the color printing which was my main priority. My old Canon still does documents well with cheap ready refill ink ($28 for four colors), so it will be my default printer. The new one will do my pictures with the high priced ink ($53 for four colors). Epson uses good ink for this printer - - you can mark the paper with a magic marker immediately after printing without smears.

I'll report back in 2010 when I've INSTALLED my new HP printer

I did buy the 2 year "bring it back....no questions" service deal....so I hope that it's up and running in that time

I have an older HP and refill my cartridges. The key is to fill them before they are near empty. I have little requirement for printing, and this works for me.

UPDATE: I finally installed the new HP 3-in-1 a few weeks ago and it. Great to be able to print in color again, and also make a photocopy now and then....

Gene would be happy to know that I installed it less than 3 months after buying it!
