I really wasn't worried about yo being mean Bill. Sarcasm doesn't work in plain text very well.
A year ago I stumbled across the SL500. I've always loved the SL's going back to the Pagoda roof 190's.
I wasn't smart enough to buy one when they were $2500 bucks.
I got the SL and the active suspension amazed me. It woke up a sleeping demon.
This past spring we had to retire the 243K S430 which broke my heart.
Along this same period there were some rather annoying health issues. In all seriousness, I wasn't quite sure how long I was going to live or even how long I wanted to live.
I was in constant pain. It wasn't specific just always tired and achy, or in agony. This had gone on for a few years just slowly getting worse.
About the same time I saw a S560 with quilted leather seats...
Then I made the mistake of going out to Springfield to play with an S63, and in your parlance, the hook was set. I was in love with massive torque and horsepower.
What the hell I might as well enjoy life for now. Sounds dire but in honesty it was.
about 6 weeks ago I had a surgical procedure that removed a fistula in my arm. ( there's thread somewhere.)
I now feel great. Total 180 from where I was. The love affair with torque didn't go falter.
My mind then starting looking at all things AMG. ML63 surprisingly fun but have workable SUV and it's an SUV.
E63S interior just not up to snuff, S63, not really affordable, but the GT-S hmmm. you hit the nail on the head. I'm not sure I would say easier sell exactly.
so we have light weight with massive torque and handles phenomenally.
gorgeous interior with more room than the S2000. The wife really like the SL more than the S2000 for that reason.
Suspension can be softer as well ( or not depending on that switch)

Well, first of all, I'm glad you are feeling great. Ill have to look for the fistula thread. I'm interested to learn what it was doing that was making you tired and giving you pain all over.

But yeah, I get it. Good for you and go for it. They always have value so it isn't like you blew the money gambling.

Hey Lainey we may need to get you a booster seat.

Persons under 5 ft (1.50 m) in height cannot
fasten the seat belt correctly without an additional
suitable restraint system. If the seat
belt is incorrectly fastened, it cannot protect
as intended.

I dropped the S2000 at the dealer today.
That way, I could then cancel the registration on it this year. It allows me to avoid having to pay excise tax on it for next year.

I have to admit it was an emotional ride over. An awful lot of memories in that car. Many shared with my friends here on this forum.
In honer of Chazmo, I put on a hat, cranked up the heat and put the top down. Swirlies one last time.

Don't worry, Jerry. We'll still let you play with the cool S2000 crowd!

Enjoy the new wheels!
