Doug - you mentioned that you find the Titan superior to the other trucks - any reason why?
First off until you drive one you cannot fathom the power. Even though the horsepower numbers are higher for the Hemi Ram, the Titan feels way faster and stronger because the power is coming in at low rpms. Of all the full-size trucks out right now, other than Titan, I like the F-150 the best, but the F-150 feels VERY underpowered compared to the Titan!

There are all sorts of little things that made the Titan superior to me, but in all honesty it came down to one major thing - the 5-speed manual shift auto tranny. The truck has fly-by-wire throttle and is the only 1/2-ton pickup with a 5-speed, let alone a manual shift auto - think Porsche shiftronic. You are going down the road in 5th, shift down to 2nd, the truck blips the throttle right away and shifts to 4, when you slow down enough it will rev match and shift to 3rd, and as you slow down more it will rev match and shift to 2nd, now if you mash the throttle to the floor it will haul but right up to redline and bounce off the rev limiter, IT WILL NOT SHIFT to 3rd, when you slide the lever to 3rd it shift, and holy crap do you feel the 305 hp and 379 ft-lb!!!

I have not owned an automatic tranny since high school in 1977. I had no desire to own one now, but for towing in the 1/2-ton truck range the manual tranny is the way to go. When I test drove the Titan for the first time and realized how cool the tranny was I just knew this was the ride for me.

Go out and test drive one, you will really start looking at Ford, Dodge and Chevy in a new light.
