Removed the nerve block pain pump after 3 days. It worked because what pain I had was not my shoulder but discomfort in my neck from straps, etc. The catheter in my neck, weight of pain med bag, and arm sling made sleeping nearly impossible. Donna removed the catheter today and all that went with it. I just need to wear the sling when sleeping. Modern medicine – unreal! A good nights sleep will be nice.

Dave,
I slept in my recliner after they put my shoulder back together.

Both Rick and I found it easier to sleep in the recliner than the bed after shoulder surgeries. It was easier than trying to work with a bunch of pillows in the bed. Unless you have an adjustable bed? A pain pill, Tylenol PM or drug/alcohol of your choice may help too.

I have a recliner and it is comfortable with a small pillow under the sling BUT I can not fall to sleep in it. After trying night after night, time and time again, I am now sleeping on a couch which is not as long or wide as I want but it gives me good back support and I have always been a left side side sleeper because of 20 years of shoulder pain. Its too early to take a chance on a bed; its only been 5 days since the surgery.

Thanks all for sharing all but let's keep this thread for Art Stuff.
