Finished up another Paris painting ............ another copy of Edouard Cortes work. A French post-impressionist painter of Paris landscapes born in 1882.
I am currently building Lego's "The Starry Night". Does that make me an artist?
I enjoy building model cars as much as painting. My favorite model car was made by a fellow painter - a Pocher Alfa 8C. He built it and his wife gave to me after his passing; it just blows me away. I am not into Lego's but I am sure they can provide enjoyment and distraction from life's stress. I have a big Lego McLaren F1 kit my kids gave me a year ago for my birthday. I doubt I will ever even open the box but I respect the puzzle aspect of putting it together..... much like a painting.
I don’t consider putting the Legos together artistic. You just need to follow the directions and not be color blind! Now painting a model (tried it and i suck at it) or the paintings that you do is truly artistic! My mother loved doing water colors and she was an artist….to bad she didn’t pass along any of her talent to any of her children.
Taking a break from Corte copies. I wanted the frame styles to match. The local store didn’t have a match for the 1st frame I bought, so I ended up swapping it for a white one that I can spray light gray latter. Need to find new subject matter.

Thanks. I could have bought a black frame for the other one but I didn't a care much for it with the boulevard painting. I only framed them because a painting buddy in TX talked me into it. I don't really have any where to hang them except in my art room.
I did paint the white frame gray and I thought it looked better. Wife just said "whatever".
I mentioned to NZ Matt in another thread that a photo he took of his farm was a lot like a painting I was doing. It was to be an easy one and fun. Turned out to be just the opposite. I have struggled with this one more than any I can recall in recent times. I never could get the clouds right, the field right, nor the colors what I wanted. I probably restarted it four dozen times on the same canvas. No more. It's not getting signed and it's in the dumpster. What's funny is it looks better in a photo I took a couple days ago to share with a fellow painter when I was frustrated. I guess they all can't all be winners. Fresh start tomorrow - new subject for sure.
