Default Asking for help from the elders

Couldn't think of the best place for this, but I see how some of you are about your homes. I just had a new driveway put in to replace the failing asphalt. Everything was going great until I asked the guy how smooth he could get it. He then informs me AL state law requires the finish be "broom". Nothing I could really do to make him stop from doing it short of firing him and risking not getting the job done. Now it's set and feels horrible! Is there any way to dampen the roughness of the cement after it is dry or a sealer I can use to fill it in some? I don't want glass, but I don't want it super rough though. I got this so I could crawl under my car and do things which is almost impossible because I'll be tearing cloths trying to move on it.

Thanks guys!

You can always have another contractor come out and polish it. Just discuss with him that you don't ACTUALLY want it polished. I'm sure you can find someone to take care of it.

A broom finish, as far as I know, is pretty normal.

Most are lightly broom finished, this is pretty deep bristle marks. If it was a light texture I would have no problems, but this stuff is straight harsh.

Vivid, I will defiantly be looking into other companies local to me for the proper solution.
