Default Attack on Elec substation

The attack in NC sure points out how easy it is to cripple a community. I sure hope that doesn't catch on around the country.

I know our substations are as weak as you can get. They have no real employees on duty , the average homeless person can enter them and steal copper wiring with ease, it happens everywhere here. Racoons often knock them out by accident when they get fried in the equipment. Super hard to protect.

Just another POS causing havoc here. At least no one was murdered this time.

Perhaps they will have to place concrete walls around sub-stations rather than the traditional wire fence. Unless of course you have a shooter with a ladder.

One person interviewed said it would only take about twenty of these stations to be taken off line to darken the entire US.

^ I have long thought that substations were an ideal target for terrorists, both domestic and foreign. Scary!
