Having spent a career in that industry I have to say that is a load of crap.

I sold medium voltage power cable (35kv max) for over 20 years. They do care about longevity when it comes to that.

the cost of a road crew to go out for a day and fix a line down is worth far more than a than saving a few cents on a bundle of cable.
never mind sending the guy in choppers up.

^Being an ex-helicopter pilot, I have tremendous respect for the guy at the controls. Very steady and delicate touch. Also, the guy making the repairs has to have complete confidence in the pilot's skills.
The helicopter in the video is a MD-500, which in the Army, we affectionally called the "Loach." Being a single engine aircraft, the pilot is always preparing for an engine failure (we all did!) and if handled poorly, could be catastrophic.

Who decides to shoot up the place at 5:30 pm ? It might be the work of a psychopath doing it in multiple locations. They should be able to tell from the ammunition.

Yep, schools are closed for the holidays and what better way to put sparkle into the night. After all who doesn't like seeing everyone in the dark and maybe a death or two. Vandals used to be kids with a b-b gun or a 22 who didn't think about any of the consequences. The incident days are over now.
