Patty it looks like you have a wonderful place to escape to. That gives you the best of both worlds.
Although I miss the country I do enjoy the conveniences of city living. Having museums, art galleries, symphony hall etc., just a twenty minute drive away is great. We don't go to them as often as I would like but when we lived in the country to visit anyone of them was a days outing. As I have become older I have also appreciated having hospitals near by. Oh, but I do miss the country.

Katherine, I need to go there more often and really need to spend more than one night at a time. I breath deeper and freeer there. I know what you mean about the conveniences, though. I do have them close by here, too.

^^ Double barrel shotgun hanging over the door.

Lots of "fringe" people in places like that.
It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it

I used to go there with two German Shepherds. They were my protection. The A-holie ex is not letting me see them, let alone take them up there.

That's great to hear. Hopefully, you never will. But I used to be a Boy Scout. I believe in being prepared.

^ I understand about that but I'm not going to go buy a shotgun. I think I'm safer up there than I am in my house due to the lack of people. No cops to call though.

Patty, you're great with dogs. Have you ever thought about getting yourself a Shepherd? I know the training process is a pita, but I'd be hard pressed to live without a dog.

^Oh, yeah, Darlene, all the time. My head whips around faster for a sheppy than for anything. I do think I'll get one in my future but not yet.
