On B-Ball and kids ( non-political)
There has been a lot of noise in the press about the UCLA trip to China and associated shoplifting charges.
Lavar Ball, the father of one of the players involved has expressed his disappointment with UCLA for not establishing better rules on the trip.
Speaking strictly for myself, I don't have any recollection of anyone ever having to say to me that I shouldn't be shoplifting while on a school trip.
I would also add, again speaking strictly for myself, I don't think it was the responsibility of any school officials to inform me that I shouldn't do that.
My parents taught me that decision making process at tender age.
Perhaps Mr Ball should have a long conversation with a suitable mirror in his home and do some private soul searching for some answers to his predicament.
that is all.

Amen! This is the ultimate irony. The boy's own father complaining that strangers and institutions aren't doing a good enough job raising his son.

Chris Cuomo interviewed him on CNN. It was one of the funniest, most ridiculous interviews I've ever seen. What a sad commentary.

It is ridiculous. The son said he didn't do anything until after his teammates did. A very sad commentary on parenting and responsibility for one's actions.

I think the interesting part is they want a superstar career in the NBA for the kids.
Smart teams will take a pass just based on work ethic and basic intelligence.
How will this kid act as a leader? "well gee the others guys did it."
