We both really like Judy and were thrilled that our kids put together this special gift for us
Her hair is still long and all white....the voice is still sweet. She is still singing those protest songs.....I like that she doesn't give in to injustice.

You walk into the room,
With your pencil in your hand,
You see somebody naked,
And you say, "Who is that man?"
You try so hard,
But you just don't understand,
Just what you will say,
When you get home.
But something is happening here,
And you don't know what it is,
Do you, Mr. Jones?

Ballad of a Thin Man
Do you --- Mr. Jones?
Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when youre older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it wont be long now
Till you drag your feet to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true
Therell be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return, we can only look behind
From where we came

Started out on burgundy,
But soon hit the harder stuff,
Everybody said they'd stand beside me,
When the goin got rough,
But the joke was on me,
There was nobody even there to bluff,
I'm goin back to New York City,
I do believe I've had enough.

Rob, I love Judy Collins, too, but early Dylan is really hard to beat. ....
I'll let you know what songs he sings, Jim.....
Remember Laura Nyro? I was listening to some of her music tonight and I thought I'd share some very beautiful but sad lyrics with you. Do you remember this? Laura died in 1997 at the age of 50. Ovarian cancer stole her life at a much too early age.
(Barbara Streisand did a cover of this song which was much more popular but Laura's own version was much more beautiful)
I was born from love
And my poor mother worked the mines
I was raised on the Good Book Jesus
Till I read between the lines
Now I don't believe
I want to see the morning
Going down the Stoney End
I never wanted to go
Down the Stoney End
Mama let me start all over
Cradle me, Mama, cradle me again
I can still remember him
With love light in his eyes
But the light flickered out and parted
As the sun began to rise
Now I don't believe
I want to see the morning
Going down the Stoney End
I never wanted to go
Down the Stoney End
Mama let me start all over
Cradle me, mama, cradle me again
(Cradle me, mama, cradle me again
Mama, cradle me again...)
Never mind the forecast
'Cause the sky has lost control
'Cause the furry and the broken thunders
Come to match my raging soul
Now I don't believe
I want to see the morning
Going down the Stoney End
I never wanted to go
Down the Stoney End
Mama let me start all over
Cradle me, mama, cradle me again
Going down the Stoney End...
