Closing Michael Jackson Thread
I was sorry he closed the thread too.
I wanted my opinion heard on the man, not his music.
You can like someone's music or art without liking the person.
The media's playing to the hilt. There's lots of money involved.
I turned it off.

Ahhhh Flats, but I was remembering him and his music long before he became a man and the childhood joy (okay, teenage joy) he brought not just my generation but my kids and now my grandkid. We couldn't wait to see if he could top what he did last time and he usually did. So, excuse me if I voice my opinion too and mourn losing a part of my childhood. I'm thinking there will be many more days if not weeks of this as his music spanned so many decades (4) and touched so many people's lives around the world.
RIP finally, Michael.

I think there are pretty much only two ways to go on the controversial issue with children. He either did it or did not and was not convicted of anything.
If you believe he did, and if you believe in God, judgement and heaven and hell, then appropriate judgement will be made.
If you believe he did and you don't believe the above, then the man is dead and there is no one to punish and nothing to talk about.

I resisted saying anything that could get me in trouble.
Hey, Bill- I'm headed your way on Tuesday to help Melissa move to a new apt in J.P. on Wednesday. Will be around town on Thursday....do you want to have lunch near your office? If so, PM me location and contact info....
People on both sides of the discussion are having lots to say about MJ today. It is interesting to see what aspects of his life different people choose to focus on.
Last night Chris and I went to the Laugh Stop in Houston with some friends to have a few drinks and take in some stand up. Naturally there were the expected improvised MJ jokes and comments. Some were very mean and hard hitting -- others were just funny. I had the feeling, though, that the comments probably told us something about the commentators and not just something about Michael Jackson.

I understand that. But if I start a topic and don't like what I read should I just close it? If you put something out there then you should respect other peoples comments.
