Default Computer wakes up at night

I have Win XP Pro, SP2. My computer is on a network, so I have the BIOS set to "wake on LAN." My router is encrypted and MAC filtered. None of my other computers are on when the problem occurs.

When in Hibernate, but not when Turned Off, the computer will sometimes start itself at 4:03 a.m.

I searched the logs and find that Automatic Update seems to initiate an event at 4:03 a.m. Therefore, I think Automatic Update is the cause of the wake-up. I have found one other case of this behavior by searching the Internet, but no info on how to stop it. Nor can I find any relevant settings anywhere in Windows.

This is kind of an esoteric question, but does anyone know for sure what is going on and/or how to stop it? Thanks for any info.

Go into control panel-automatic update and change the time it runs.

Why don't you turn the automatic update off and see if that solves the problem?

Same place in control panel automatic updates and hit the radio button for the option you want.

Mark,

Thanks for your help, but only the radio button for automatic download/install has a time setting. The button for notify does not.

I thought all new computers came with scanners, but every time I slide the paper in front of my screen, nothing happens. Can you help?
