This brings back not so fond memories of one of the green mountain tours in Vt.
Seems a farmer was spreading that composted manure with this large aerial sprayer set up.
such a deep earthy aroma reminded you of exactly where you were.

We lived in the country in Ontario, Canada for some eight years. We have memories of the spreading of cow poop on the fields. "Hold your nose today!"

We would also pass the African Lion Safari on occasion - now that was an altogether stronger essence. Elephants also make poop.

As a youngin' I worked on a farm and the best job was spreading manure, especially if you were close to a road when you let it fly! One time my father had us bring a load down and spread it on our garden (a rather large garden) in late fall. The next year we had vegetables that grew like crazy.

Years ago when I went out to El Centro CA for the Blue Angels show, we drove from Phoenix. I was told that I'd know we were nearing El Centro by the smell. True!!
