Its got 700+ on it now and I'm so ashamed of myself. I took it out for a little spin yesterday and was sitting at a stop light when a funky little ricer pulled up beside me. I tried to be good, I really, really did and decided to ignore him completely (silly little kid that he was). As soon as the light turned green, I very gently pulled out . Then that bad young man decided to whip past me, showing off that his ricer was better than mine. In order to preserve the proper image that any self-respecting S2k driver must keep up, I found myself pressing the pedal and the next thing I knew three times!!!! I wonder if that little fella told any of his friends that a grandmother left him eating her dust? I'm so ashamed of myself. I told +1 of my terrible shame at dinner last night and he said this: I TOLD YOU NO STREET RACING. I only got up to 75 mph, I said -- that's not so bad. Well, okay, but DON'T DO IT AGAIN. I won't.
Reminds me of something that happened last spring.
I was driving down my local main street minding my own business when 3 crotchrockets went by me. The last one slowed looked over my car then tried to impress me with a wheelie. The next thing I see is a cop going the other direction pull a u-turn and turn on his lights. i turned off and was laughing my a$$ off.

It's awful tempting to show what my car can do, but I try to pick when and where.
I've had alot of fun on the onramps to highways , but take it easy on residential streets.

Deb and Val,

How are you feeling about the 8K rev vs. the 9K rev? I know it bothered me a lot for a long time, going from the '01 to the '05.

Nice color Deb, I picked mine up last week and and am enjoying it. I can feel the difference in the softer ride and the steering is a little more controllable. The other features are nice. I haven't had the chance to push it yet because it had 5 miles on the odo when I picked it up and I am taking my time and breaking it in right. I still miss the raw performance of the old girl but I will get used to this one quickly, its still an S

^^ I'm having a really hard time getting used to the subtle differences in shift time. It seems to rev up faster into the power range and gear changes come earlier. I haven't hit the redline, but it is not as "raw" to quote Zcar. Its a lot smoother and I'm very happy with it, its just that after all those years of driving the other one, this one will take some getting used to. I'm having a hard time getting used to the color change as well. I love the nfr and think its beautiful, I'm just not accustomed to being surrounded by all that red.

Its funny. Earlier this afternoon I had mine out just for a drive. As I was driving I couldn't help but think, "How could anyone make this car better, its near perfect already." Aside from some little touches like an outside thermometer, and a better stereo, its really hard to imagine what Honda could do to improve the car. My car will be 4 years old next Saturday, and I still feel the same way about it as I did the day I drove it home. No, I like it even more now.

Then I read Deb's, Val's, Patty's and Burt's comments and realize that they in fact did find a way to improve it. All I can think to myself is, "Wow, what a great car we own, it started out near perfect and became better over the years."

It amazes me how right Honda got this car, right from the very beginning. What a great job they've done with it.

Taking this thread slightly off topic for a bit.

Honda had a good day at the Hungaroring today at the F1 race of Hungary scoring first and forth after one of the more bizarre races of the F1 season.

Jenson Button had his first win, after 113 F1 starts.

Going back on topic.

Bert, Deb and Darline, I wish you the best with your new rides. I hope that you enjoy them as much as your first S's.

^^ OMG, Burt!!! IT IS PHENOMENAL. I thought the old one was like launching out of a cannon, but this one is SUPREME!! It just whooshes. I was thinking yesterday on the way home after a little romp on a nice little twisty road a couple/miles from my house that I should call this car my Nike Whoosh Car. Its amazing. You're gonna love it.

Andy and I had a little romp today with our '01 and '05. Some fun canyons before hitting Costco and Best. Andy got his up to 115 MPH! He said he had to get the cobwebs out. Right! He loves his little car. About time!
