I did not read through your entire thread; didn't have to. The house is a big part of you and your life. You realize that it is only material but it's more than that; certainly for you, anyways. If it means that much, I say keep it. Maybe later, it will be different but for now it means too much.

After reading all the responses I have to agree with most: keep your current place with some possible redecorating at this time. As you get on in years and no longer need or taking care of your large house becomes a chore, then may be the time to downsize. It never hurts to keep looking.

Keep in mind that your family is actually growing again. Abby, a new grandson, and who knows what will happen in the near future.
You know what you have with this house, but what problems will a new one bring? Plus, like others have already said, what about neighbors?
Suzanne may feel uncomfortable there, so try and let her change things around to suit what makes her feel at home.
Just my .02.

We've decided to put an offer on the new place tomorrow. Big change, but we're ready for it. If it's meant to be then we'll get it. If not then we won't.

One downside is I'll have to store the S offsite.

You can all be the judge when we have the Buckeye Run this year. Not sure what we'll do with the cars but we'll figure that out later.

I'm sure it'll be just fine. Knowing you I'd bet the new place will be beautiful.

I had a feeling you were headed in that direction. I'm a big believer in things happening if they are supposed to. My new apartment came out of the blue. I was planning to wait until spring or summer to look and did not expect to find the layout, etc I wanted anytime soon. Lots of the layouts here I don't care for. Well, the day after I talked to the agent, he told me about a unit available that he was going to look at that afternoon. I went to see it that evening and ten minutes after I walked in I wrote the contract. So you never know!! Good luck!

Gee, that grandson of mine is a fast mover. After the Abby story at dinner when you were here, I have to continue to just trust the one who's been guiding you. Can't go wrong there. All the best in what should be a very interesting new year. You always seem to land on your feet no matter how many twists and twirls you take on the way down. Y'all will be just fine. You're in good hands. Granny knows!

I didn't have tome to post my .02 before you made the decision Carm, but I have been thinking about the same thing for months now. My trouble is I need a three or even five car garage to make this next move my last. I'm not storing cars off premises and I need the work shop. My ideal would be a two car attached garage and a seperate barn or out building where I could work on the cars and use various chemicals without smelling up the house.

Given the age of your daughter, I would think school systems and neighborhood support are the two biggest issues. In that respect we are completely different. My kids are all out of the house.
