Perhaps with driverless AI cars on the horizon it may not be necessary to have a drivers license for getting around. As I am in a semi rural area bordering on Gold Country towns, I always thought I would go back to a horse and buggy if my license was pulled. No license needed. Plus it is very green, LOL!

I guess if I was 75 it would irritate me. But I spend a lot of time around seniors with my work and I see some crazy stuff. Just the other day I saw an older lady backing out of a parking spot, she hit a car that was driving perpendicular to her. She pulled forward and then started to back up again and proceeded to hit the same vehicle a second time. She then pulled ahead and then started backing up a third time and hit the same vehicle a third time. The people had to get out of their vehicle and started yelling and banging on her roof to get her to stop moving. I know one older man who could not exit his vehicle when he arrived at his home parking spot, he would sit in the car and wait for assistance to get out of the vehicle. If he could not walk I have no idea how he had the reflexes to brake. Seniors are living longer, but I don't know if they need to drive longer too, testing is a good way to weed out the bad ones.

Hmmm. Mississippi is interesting:
Licenses can last up to eight years for everyone, with no older age requirements.
Anyone can write the Department of Public Safety to report a potentially unsafe driver. The target of the complaint then gets 10 days to schedule a hearing, and if medical reasons are cited, the department seeks a report from the person’s physician.

As the most likely 2nd oldest poster on this thread, I agree. Get those old farts out of my way.

If it was my call, it would start at 60.
I was told by an officemate if you are hospitalized n Florida, Your license is automatically suspended.
The Dr has to approve your getting it back.

The only thing necessary to drive is a car. The number of State IDs use for employment verification in the factories I worked in is astounding. I'm sure these are not unique.

I think you and I are in a close race when it comes to age, Dave. Emil and I are the same age. VA doesn't have a medical requirement (that I know about). Guess I'm going to have to check eventually.
