being more than a little cynical, I suspect it had little to do with the government a whole lot to do with the doctor was padding his bill.

I don't think so. Contractor doing the testing.

By any chance did the doctor disclose if he had an interest in the "contractor". It is necessary here to disclose if the doctor has an interest in any diagnostic provider that they refer to.

I think this is a State of Georgia issue rather than a requirement of the Federal Government.

HB 972 - Georgia Pain Management Clinic Act;

^ I suspect this is correct. I've been to my doctor's office three times in the past two weeks. No one has asked me to take a urine test, nor has anyone administered any other kind of drug test.

Again, if we are talking pain management, I'd bet the rules/regs are entirely different.

I know a woman in Ohio, she's had 4 failed shoulder surgeries. Constant pain sent her to a pain clinic.

After one surgery she filled a pain med script from the surgeon and this was a real when the clinic learned of the additional meds. She has to give a urine sample with each visit.

Panterra is your wife being seen for chronic pain?

Well, don't feel left out. Your boss will be by sometime soon with a cup to pee into, thanks to our legislators up in T-Town. HPH

Did it pass? The last I heard was elected government officials were going to be exempt because, according to the crack legislator who authored the bill, it would violate their "First Amendment rights". I'm fairly certain it's the Fourth Amendment that applies, not the First, but this is Floriduh.

I may be working for a private Liberal Arts university next fall, so it may not be an issue for me. I can't have them finding out about my statin, fish oil, and aspirin habit.

I believe that the VA has a similar set of rules, but their rules are to make sure that the patient is avctually taking the meds and not selling them.

Hmm,hadn't thought of the pain management possibility. Many "pain clinics" in this part of the country (at least the rural parts) are found to be illicit distributors of prescription drugs. Pay your $100, get a scrip for oxycontin. Not saying that this has anything to do with Pantera's wife, of course.
