Default The Eagle Webcam

There is a site devoted to an eagle family in South FL. Here is the link. Post your comments here.

At the present time, there is one baby in the nest and one egg about to hatch (?). The mother and father are taking turns bringing fish to the nest and sitting on it. It is very entertaining!

That is interesting. I know of eagles nesting near the Wilson Bridge here in DC, but that's still a pretty isolated location by the river. Also, there are many nesting on the Chesapeake Bay. Wonder how active they will be in the rain?

WOW! The eagle got up and now there are two babies!! The other one must have hatched since yesterday evening. The eagle has a fish under its claw and is feeding them!

Looks like the second one isn't fully out of the shell. I think the eagle will remove the shell at some point. Very !

The other eagle just flew in for a bit. I think I see four pieces of fish around the nest. The one on the front right looks like a catfish. The eagle seems to be leaving that one alone. There is about half the shell left in the nest. S/he has been moving it out of the way, but hasn't taken it out yet.

I'll bet that eaglets have very sharp beaks and they start eating on their own as soon as they can find the fish. They are pretty careful feeding them.

^ Right...the smaller one keeps falling over. Hasn't gotten the feeding thing down quite yet.

Took care of the fish head in short order. I'm surprised the eagle only feed one of the two although they were both up for it.

Babies just had breakfast. The smaller one is getting more to eat today. Stopped falling over.
