I keep rooting for #2 to get more aggressive at feeding time but he still keeps growing in spite of his passive approach. #1 certainly does not have any trouble helping himself. I laugh too at how clown like those big feet are.

Between the big feet and wings, they don't balance very well.

They've realllllllly grown now. They're still ungainly little creatures with wanky wings and huge feet!

Not sure if any of you have observed how the eaglets get rid of waste from their bodies. Let's just say it gives new meaning to the term "shoot the sh-t".
Yep, that's how they do it - duck! I've seen that a few times.
That's the main reason I take my front door wreath in May. It's pretty cool to have a nest there but I don't like what it does to my door or the mat.

Blechhhh. I get a lot of bird-doo on the bird feeder baffles and I hose them off from time to time. When we turn on the irrigation system the water sprays over them and keeps them in better shape. I love feeding the birds, but I hate it when feeder cleaning time rolls around.

One of the eaglets is chomping on a fish all by himself. Parents not around.

Wow - since I've not been watching the past few days the eaglets have really gotten big! And darker with the feathers coming out.

The parent just dropped a big fish in the nest and let the eaglets go at it.
