They are sticking with their predictions of it hitting or coming very close to the Cape. I'm Pulling my boat out tomorrow afternoon. I hope it will go back in before the season ends. Good luck to the folks in N Carolina.

Lainey, looks like you and those who live east of Westport could see some hurricane, or at least, tropical storm force winds.

Hope you're prepared and wish you the best.

LB, is the boat out of the water?

Edit: Latest weather info here.

In Rhode Island And parts of Mass. before a hurricane or big snow storm everyone always buys milk and bread, why this is I don't know but I guarantee by tomorrow night you won't be able to find a loaf of bread or any milk anywere in R.I. or southeast mass. It's kind of like boiling water when someone is about to deliver a baby.

Rob

at your comment. Daughter in law came here after work to pick up the grandkids and said there was no more bread in the grocery store where she works.

The milk folks are rushing out to buy may not last long without power.

Lainey I was thinking of you guys today in regards to the hurricane but as the saying goes this isn't your first rodeo so I'm sure you guys will do fine. Hopefully it will miss us.

Just sat down from prep stuff, here and at my sister's place.

Last hurricane, Bob, in '91 really made a mess, lots of property damage, boats tossed around. One thing was weird that I never noticed before, and I guess the proximity to the ocean had something to do with it, the rain was loaded with salt. Windows were coated with it, plants died off soon after.

I mentioned we can shower when we have no power, and don't you know the water heater acted up this AM. The pilot was out, Rick got it going, but the pilot was out again this afternoon. It's going again, and I grabbed a shower, just in case it goes out again. Hoping it's all set now and that we don't have an issue.

Just what we need, trying to get a plumber to our house on Labor Day weekend after a hurricane.
