That would only be interesting if it turned them into zombies. Flesh-eating zombies. Flesh eating zombies in diesel pick up trucks. Flesh eating zombies in diesel pick up trucks rolling coal all over the highway. Flesh eating zombies in diesel pick up trucks rolling coal all over the highway with a six foot state flag flying in the truck bed.

(for the record, I realize that not all Texans own diesel pick up trucks, roll coal, or have large state flags in their truck beds. don't know about the zombie part though. i'll have to do research.)

This thread in so many ways exemplifies what's wrong with Vintage and displays perfectly the reasons so many have left.

On another topic, I've discovered that if you open a bottle of carbonated beverage, replace the cap and turn it upside down in your refrigerator it maintains the fizz.

Life is good

flts,

I'm not saying that I disagree with you, but I'm not quite sure what makes you say it. Please explain.

Because I have not made any statement regarding politics. My statement is regarding irresponsible journalism, sensationalism, and fear mongering on the part of the media. That you think I'm making a political statement is more of an indication of what you wish to see than the reality of what was written.
You are mistaken. I don't think you are making a political statement any more than I did. Stating one funding source for Snopes and listing an example of incorrect reporting by Snopes is not political. My "just the facts ma'am" is regarding that form of irresponsible journalism.

Back on topic......Both flights taken by the second nurse to contract the virus are being looked at.

Neither nurse is being cared for in the hospital in which they work.

The commentary on the news was that this was to give the hospital in TX a chance to hit "re-wind" so to speak. Check procedures, check protocols, especially given that more people could show with symptoms.

Nurses caring for these patients need the same protective gear that those transporting them are wearing.

I hope the situation improves soon. It's just not good, but we all know that.

Because of her travel and hysteria, several schools and a dress shop were closed today for disinfecting. The dress shop i can understand. She spend quite some time there but the schools were closed because some teachers were on the same plane as nurse #2.

Dave, you are correct. Our local news can't even get the story right.

I agree with Roseanne that critical discussions about moderating decisions should be made with the Admins. Otherwise Vintage threads could fortuitously - as in the past - go off topic and turn into personal debates - and people would perhaps 'leave'. Moderators are volunteers who have agreed to monitor posts and take appropriate steps to support the site posting rules without introducing personal involvement. One of the infrequent but occasional tasks that moderators have is to make on-the-spot decisions about whether a post that has political content or that invites political responses should rather be in the Vintage Political Subforum - or needs other attention. Those judgements are focused on the posts, and are not intended to be interpreted as a comment about the poster, even if the poster indicates disagreement with the policy of disallowing political posts in main Vintage (a policy that was debated at length earlier on when the Subforum was created). These are judgement calls, and calls that should not be taken as personal or deprecatory in any way. You may disagree with a call, and you may be "right". We try to do our best to do the job as agreed to keeping in mind the Terms of Service https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/648998-the-rules/ . In addition, we as members want to see fellow posters happy and enjoying the site. If a moderating decision upsets you a great deal, you can then appropriately take up the matter with an Admin. ]

Back to topic.
