Ebola
You might consider simply monitoring the situation via reliable sources and, if an outbreak occurs in that country, then change your plans.
To each his own, but I'm not much for letting fear of a problem that has yet to materialize (and may not *ever* materialize) stand in the way of a judiciously planned excursion. If I did, there would be an awful lot of things I would never have seen or done.
You might consider avoiding Liberia, though.
Taking action often helps combat feelings of fear. I came across this article and thought that some might find it a beacon of hope and a constructive outlet amidst all of the very bleak and debilitating news we are seeing.
A simple donation goes a long way...like the ice bucket challenge and all the help it generated for ALS, only this donation might be more critical and time sensitive.

Now we have 2 nurses that directly involved in the care of 1 man contract Ebola in a hospital that says that it knows how to properly handle a contagious disease/deadly pathogen. This is vs how many aide workers/doctors in contact with how many thousands of contagious patients/dead bodies that have contracted Ebola? Something definitely does not add up here...

Hurricanes is number 1, but by January you should be fine. They do suggest vaccinations... They don't say what for. Maybe all the stuff we get here anyway.

Going on vacation to the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) in January. Should I be worried?

I'm not sure I'd "worry" about ebola, however do we trust those who have been exposed to do the "Right thing" and not travel by air, etc., I'd have concerns about air travel, until they know a bit more. Maybe it's not airborne, maybe you have to have direct contact with bodily fluids, however, what about touching a surface that has been contaminated by ebola (think the small airplane lavatory). Will hand washing after use be enough....???
We now have a nurse who has been diagnosed, who was very recently in an airplane, knowing full well she had been exposed......not good.
And many of the big doctors at our large hospitals have said that there is a slim chance that ebola would show up in Northern Ohio.
The latest nurse infected flew from Dallas to CLEVELAND, stayed a few days and flew back on Monday. On Tuesday she was diagnosed with ebola!!! Why in god's name was she allowed to travel much less leave her house? Do these people in Dallas have their head so far up their ass that they don't recognize the potential danger? This is how a pandemic starts.......
Yup, there is little chance that Northern Ohio will have to deal with ebola
