I probably have the bitchy part down pretty well. Its the get-moving part I lack.

no, comment!
I've had a kind of crappy year. I'm realllllllly hoping 2012 is much better.

I'm hoping you have a much better year, next year, Val! It's lousy when you can't do the things you want to do.

I'm not as addicted to exercise as Patty, but I can say that since I'm attending regular aerobic dance and zumba classes, I feel good. Less stressed and not even too Grinchy for the season. That is something!

You're in the beginning stages of addiction, Lainey. You keep adding classes don't you?
[/quote]

I try. Right now the aerobic class is on a break until Mid January or later. So only Zumba is available. I'm not going back to the class I tried last Thursday, I thought of a different one this evening, but the time frame doesn't suit me. So I may only have two nights/week of exercise for now. Of course there is that treadmill at home.

^Yeah, I know how you feel about the treadmill. I haven't stepped foot in the gym for the elliptical since I brought home my first ElliptiGO. Bleh. Boring.

No treadmill, and no Zumba tonight. We went out to eat instead.

Today was my weight machine day. Also messed around with posters in the garage since I had a new NSX poster to put up and had to move the two S2000 posters around.

So, I did my volunteer job this morning, came home and ate lunch, and then did 18 miles on the ElliptiGO, for the fourth time this week. Right now, the spa is about 103*, and I've had two margaritas (<--They're so good). There's a Great Horned Owl out in one of the poinky trees, hooting for his mate to come play. "Who ho ho ho." I finished two months of American Express receipts, matching to past bills. My son called to update me on his Google+ status. Time to warm-out, rather than chill-out, in the spa.

Well, yes and no. It worked for about two weeks and then quit heating again. I finally got the heater repair guy out, after he showed up an hour and a half late, and the problem was spiders/webs. All he did was clean out the pilot light and orifices and it was good to go.

Good Morning America show
^This morning, Good Morning America had a segment on the ElliptiGO. It's getting some coverage which is good. I want this thing to sell so the company stays in business. Every time I ride it I get comments. The most common one is, "That is so cool!" People want to know what it is and always say they've never seen one before.

I've been riding mine 3 times a week and am up to 32 miles each time. Today was another personal best, for speed. My bike-path route has an elevation change of about 1,000 ft. I start by riding uphill for 2 miles, turn around and then ride downhill for an additional 17 miles before turning around to ride back to my parked Crosstour for 15 miles. It's pretty fast going down, with my speeds in the 18 to 22 mph range for the most part, with a max of 31 mph. Coming back it's more like 10 to 12 mph for the most part, with some 7 mph hills thrown in (like the one I hit 31 mph on going the other direction). Today I averaged 14.11 mph over the 32.4 miles with a total ride time of 2:17:43. It helped when I finally got smart and began stopping to eat a Nature Valley Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Protein bar at mile 22. I haven't been running out of steam on the way back anymore.

^Here's a tripod photo I took on my 54th birthday in January, before my ride. Wore the same nerdy outfit today (except different shoes) as it was 62* to 75*F over the course of the ride. I had to find some "minimalist" shoes with less heel. I was having trouble with my feet going to sleep. The new shoes help but haven't eliminated the problem.

^ We watched it; Donna called my attention to it, thinking it was like yours. It did not look like anything I would want to do but then I never was into running either. I stick with a normal bike and walking.

It was a black 8-speed they rode, not the 11-speed I have. I could tell by the writing of ElliptiGO on the side, since the 11R is all in white. Same machine, just I have 3 more gears.

I tried walking but it's too slow unless I'm in the forest or at the beach or something. Then it's just right.
