Default Is it the end?

Sadly it is beginning to look like it may be curtains for Top Gear.
For those who haven't been following our intrepid heroes, Mr Jeremy Clarkson got into a bit of a tiff with one of the associate producers for not having the planned steak dinner ready at the hotel when they arrived. The kitchen had already closed so all they got was a cold cheese platter. A physical altercation ensued and a result Clarkson was suspended.

Clarkson as a dinosaur linky

The question of all great actors is " What's my motivation?"
Sadly for Clarkson, I don;t think there is one. I certainly doubt that he is in dire need of the money.
After twenty+ years I suspect there is a high degree of boredom, which, oddly, may have contributed to the shows devil may care cavalier attitude that made it worth watching.

I will miss it.

What was you favorite episode?
For me it had to be the reliant robin shuttle rocket.

I watched the show regularly, but often switched to something else, because it involved some dorky BS that was neither entertaining nor informative. The good shows were always super, but much of the attempted humor fell flat in the shows that were just too contrived to hold my attention. Still I will miss the show -- and choosing whether to watch or to change channels...

^ It's been over a year since viewing Top Gear, but I couldn't have expressed my sentiments better.

The shows were rarely entertaining to me. My only access is via Netflix so at least I can pick what show to watch and fast forward over most parts. I'd rather watch Mighty Car Mods.

I think the audience was more of a distraction than anything else.

I doubt most "car guys" in North America have a clue this show even exists(ed).

I the reliant shuttle rocket episode as well as the Mini ski jump episode. But my favorite has got to be their multi show trip in Vietnam by scooter to find the boat people.

I have to agree with a long time friend of mine who stated that in his "next life he wants to come back as an automotive journalist". Just thing about the VERY expensive cars that they get to throw around in four wheel drifts with no "skin in the game" if they damage it.

It never turns out well when egos get in the way.

Best episode? For me it is the one on the Ariel Atom!

I hope this altercation didn't seal the deal for Clarkson's removal and ultimately a Top Gear worth watching. If so I will miss it. The 3 of them felt like old friends. Too many episodes to choose a favorite, but I enjoyed all those you guys mentioned and many more.

- and god damn! Me and my buddies have been waiting for the P1 vs 918 episode to air since last year when it got postponed to these season, we have been waiting patiently forever and have bets/money down on which will be faster around the test track. Now its looking like this may never happen!?
