Always glad to hear from you Bill.

after 2 yrs or so, they added the EQS SUV. Since it is taller, they have eliminated the headroom issue.
It doesn't feel like an SUV, it is much more sedan like.
They're coming in off lease now. the 580 is upper 50's into low 60's.
an example ( a really sweet example)
Merc has https://www.mbusa.com/en/cpo/inventory which has most US MB dealers pre-owned inventory.

I might have to go buy that 580.
I'm finding it interesting on the EQS SUV 580 that product turn is very quick.
if you find it, and want it you'd best buy. it won't be there long.
Of course the downside is Mercedes knows this as well and price may go higher

Sam, if you are reading this. Your new business location looks great from the road!
Thanks Dave, if we're open when you drive by feel free to stop in and say hi. Should be Porsche weather soon, so I'll make sure to come by.

While not the exact vehicle I want ( it's plain black, mileage 18k) I found one that ticked all of the other boxes.
talking with sales person, mostly over email. due to the color I'm not over the moon enthusiastic.
It is what it is so other than the tire set up there is much to discuss.
first the tires. it's a 23 production vehicle. 3 of the tires were replaced last year, the other was from the original production set.
I wanted the fourth swapped. rather than having 3 new tires and one with 18k.

I started to ask about pricing on the 7 yr extended warranty. What is in-service date from a warranty standpoint?

What is 7 yr extended warranty cost?
"For pricing on extended warranty after you guys decide to move forward our finance manager will go through everything that we offer"
Why is that a difficult question?
"In what way?"
how much is the extended warranty?
MBUSA manufacturers extended warranty.

I know the game. I've owned over 20 Mercedes and currently have 8 in the fleet.
simply answer the question.
or send over the business office lists of questions. with costs prefilled in.
I have no interest in jerking around on this.

" There is no game being played Jerome it's just our process how we do things here at Fields. Once you agree to you would like to move forward with this vehicle and it meets your needs after you will move forward to the next step which is the finance department where they will discuss each warranty and pricing. We like to make the process as smooth as possible with little back and forth. I also spoke with my manager regarding switching out that tire and that is something we cannot do. The tire meets our measurement requirements or else this vehicle would not have been certified. "

It is said Samson slew a thousand philistines with nothing more than the jawbone of an ass.
Which of course is a trivial number compared to how many sales get killed every day using the same weapon.

Bonjour, C'est moi. Je m'appelle Jérôme!
I'm vain enough as it is, I try and keep the saintly references to a minimum lest I become intolerable.

My initial plan when I started out in the world was to get into car sales. When I saw how things were done to quote George Bush or Dana Carvey, Nope not gonna do it, if they did things straightforward without the b.s. they would be so successful. At a dealership I worked at here in Vt ( not in sales) I would watch the salesman and the people who were just out of school/training were the worst as they would just concentrate on their preprogrammed sales tactics and not listen to the customers. The veteran salespeople would listen to what the customers want and move car after car.
