What kind of birds do you have that eat the thistle, Lainey?

We get wrens, finches (best is the goldfinch)... an occasional chickadee....

Lots of American Goldfinch. I will see five or six at one bag at at time, fighting for space, fighting each other off sometimes, sometimes eating together. The house finch are also regular customers. I didn't think thistle was generally included in a seed mix as it's so fine. I have two socks up in different areas of the yard. They do get wet and messy if it rains so I change them out frequently.

Mainly Finches (gold, house, and purple) and Dumb Doves at our separate thistle feeders.

We saw two Orioles at the hummingbird feeder today, so we put out some oranges but as yet we've not seen them again.

Cool looking bird bath!

At one point we had six male goldfinches on the two thistle bags this evening. Sometimes I'll have five or six on/around of the bags.
This was date night at the feeder.

I finally purchased a hummingbird feeder, and it has now been discovered. Tonight I was BBQing and a hummer was sitting on the feeder watching me. He flew up 5 feet out and 5 feet over my head and looked at me for maybe 20 seconds before taking off. I swear I heard him say "Thank you". They are sooo cool.

These birds came through at one point but right now all I have are sparrows or some similar brown birds going strong on my feeder along with a few hummers at their feeder.
