I occasionally use it with a 2X extender.

Lainey, where did you rent your lens from?
How do those extenders work?

A NE car pal had purchased some extra lenses a few years ago to rent out. Not sure how well he did, but he's not dealing with much of that these days, so he was willing to sell. I also bought a 50mm 1.4 off him a while ago. I think he also has a wide angle for sale..........

You can also rent lenses and camera equipment here: Borrow lenses
I would recommend getting the correct lens if possible. The extender will possibly slow you lens down some.

Oh I was just wondering how they work with your lens? What is your objective when using them. I know nothing of those extenders things....

My feeders have been extremely busy. Birds all over the place and my sparrow deterrents (the pieces of weighted fishing line) are still working.

The nuthatch (white breasted) chickadees, woodpeckers, tufted tit mouse gold fish, house finch and company were in and out of the feeders. It was great to watch. I did notice the nuthatch is a bit pushy at the feeders.

This AM I noticed a small bird in the tree outside the guest room window. A bit of a reddish belly. Watched it for a while and checked the bird book. Yes! A red breasted nut hatch. All of these birds are moving pretty fast, so no pictures to share.

I do have this pic of a green heron spotted while in Duck, NC. He hung around quite a while.

Nice bird pics, Lainey. Did you make those with the 10 lb lens?

Must be time to start feeding the birds. This year I'm going to move the feeders nearer the house and see if they still come. Beautiful pics Lainey.

I agree, nut hatch are tough to get in a good shot. When it comes to food they are in and out. We put up two more feeders this week. I've lost count. We ordered a wood thistle feeder, which are really hard to find, and he sent us the wrong one - same look but large holes - so when we called, he said keep it and sent us the right one. The chickadees seem to love the new one with larger holes and sunflower seeds and are on it like its their own non-stop with an occasional nut hatch. We have the grosbeaks back as well. They have lost most of their coloring.
