May be buying a new Mazda in the next week. Was told they have no dealer markup. If they change that, I will tell them I have never paid more than MSRP (even for the S2000 in September 1999) and usually under, and I’m not starting now. I don’t think they will want me to walk, as the one I’m looking at has been sitting for a few weeks on the lot.
Cosmo I’ve never seen a markup like that on a Mercedes and I’ve spent a lot of time looking at new ones at Fairfield Mercedes. Maybe you are looking at the wrong dealer.

I don't do markup either, I will either wait or go without. I had been planning on trading in my 18 WRX in for a 21 in 2021 but then the market went nuts and they marked it up 7k so I didn't do it.
I ended up getting my S for close to 2k under sticker but that was just a series of events in which I was in the right place at the right time and very lucky.

I heard stories of BMW dealers offering their new car purchasers $25,000 if they sold the cars back to the dealers at delivery, then the dealers would mark them up $100k to other buyers. I think a lot of that craziness was in the past 2 years , I don't know how much of that exists today, but dealer mark-ups are very real in the US on all makes and models, some dealers don't do it but many do, the trick is finding the good ones.

And thanks for the price watch on fast food burgers, but I prefer Tacky Bell. (I like a little mystery in my life.)
