I didn't understand why you didn't want white since I think a lot of cars look realllllly great in the color white. I understand the red though since I've owned one red S2k. It looked great, but was a pain to keep shiny and fingerprint free. However, you're going for a black one which is an even bigger pain. Nothing looks better when its clean and "print-free" and nothing looks worse when it isn't. I feel pretty much the same way about red so when I bought my next car I chose a silver that mimics the silverstone of the S2k.

Update.....

The black one has fallen thru.... which had me concerned, when I found out that there are only 9 more 3.8 track models with a manual tranny left in the states!

Now the plan is to get a circuit silver one (same as what I have) from MA...

They plan on having it trailered down and ready for me next week!

Believe me.... this has been difficult for me... and even more so for the wife!

Going to the dealer Friday to clean out the old car of all my stuff!

 

July 16 news: Hyundai’s sales in the U.S. keep growing but production restraints are holding sales back. According to the Detroit Free Press, Hyundai dealers only have a 27-day supply of vehicles, less than half of the industry average. John Krafcik, the CEO of the Hyundai’s U.S. operations says he’s trying to get more vehicles exported from South Korea to the U.S. but the priority is to ship to faster growing emerging markets. Hyundai has also capped global production at 7 million vehicles to focus on quality. In the meantime, to boost U.S. sales, Hyundai will add a shift at its Alabama plant and will sell fewer cars to rental companies and fleets. Hyundai expects to sell over 700,000 cars in the U.S. this year.

 

Hyundai dealer lots do not have many cars on them as compared to other brands....

They need to start running 8 days a week to build up inventory!

 

What's hard to believe, in a way, is the Hyundai dealer in my hometown could not make it. They shut down about a year ago. Not sure why. There's a strong Buy American spirit here but there's also lots of Honda's driving around. I was at our local GM dealer today and his sales lot was packed with new cars and salespeople looking out the window with nothing to do.

He use to have Nissan and gave that up but he still gets them in as trade-ins from prior customers. I was test driving a used Altima that I'm thinking of buying to help out my son. It was 2001 with 114k and still appeared to be a really good car. For the same amount of money I could get a 2005 Buick with about the same mileage and cost. No thanks. I have had excellent experience with Nissan's in the past, so that part of the decision was easy. The Nissan would have a 3 month or 3k warranty from a stand-up dealership, so I'm leaning that way.

Did they offer you lessons in using the clutch? Heck it was King's Mazda that taught Karen to drive a stick...
