Here's a postcard received from Verizon a day or two ago

We recently sent you a letter in which we advertised a Verizon bundle package of Verizon FiOS Internet and Verizon FiOS TV service. This letter was mailed by mistake and the services described in the letter have never been offered by Verizon under those terms.

We apologize for the error.
I'm guessing that the RED text was the ringer....gave away too much for too little I do recall a letter offering some FiOS element at a low price FOR LIFE

Maybe Ken has already locked in that deal

Ken (or anyone with FIOS),

I'm interested in the answer to this question, too!

The answer is probably not. The use the coax that is already in your house if you have CATV or satellite now. As for the phone, again, they pull twited pait from you current telephone lines to the fiber hub/demarcation.

Everything comes out of their hub which in my case they placed near where the cable came in and tied into the coax. Then they just tied across the basement into a telephone junction box.

Replaced the cable modem with their bridge/router using the installed coax and everything is done.

They actually pulled almost no new cable and very little telephone wire.

Now if you don't have cable to begin with, then you are going to need a lot of cable run.

^^^Thanks for the info, Ken. When we built our house in 1999, I ran at least 2 coax cables and 2 Cat5 cables to each room. Sounds like I would be covered should they ever get FIOS here and I decide to give Verizon my business again. (I have Comcast for cable and internet, and Vonage for phone)
