fishing was good
Never could get a picture of him, but I spent an hour today being towed around by a really big tarpon. Had him on in my flats boat. Finally I cut him loose. He pulled me all over the bay.

I'm guessing around a hundred and twenty or thirty pounds.
Morris You don't keep tarpon, you release them and if you have them on light tackle, they'll fight until they die. It's considered a catch if you touch the leader with your finger before you break them off. This one was a catch. we used to take a fish scale but now they don't want us doing that either.

Just kidding with you.
Down on Cayman Islands I remember standing on the end of a pier with Tarpons swimming around waiting for food to be tossed to them. They looked 4+ feet long, if my memory is right.

I'm reminded of The Old Man and the Sea. Although that was a sailfish (Marlin)if I recall correctly.
Kudos on releasing the fish while it was still able to survive. Catch and release is the sportsmanlike thing to do with certain species.
