A few years ago we were in Kill Devil Hills NC and I had some Johnny cakes for breakfast which were great. I tried to make them here at home today for breakfast and they turned out pretty good. I put a bunch of fruit in mine as we have so much local fruit coming available right now. They were yummy.

I'm not very good at butchering, but I think the results are fine...Tonight's dinner.

Country fried bacon with a drizzle of country gravy. Good thing the closest restaurant is 600 miles away or I'd be dead in a week. LOL

I grew up on Johnny cake and corn bread, it's a New England staple.
