Friday night dinner at Gettysburg
This thread is for the Friday night dinner at Gettysburg. Friday night's dinner is not an official part of the event, but Legal Bill had volunteered to organize it. I suspect there will be a number of different opinions, and people will break into smaller groups and visit various places. In any event, us this thread for the discussion. At the end, I'll post the places in the other thread.
Post your opinions, choices and any other relevant info here.

We should be there in plenty of time for dinner. We'll go for the "simpler fare."

I'm with Lainey, on the simpler fare.
My plane gets into Hartford at 5:08 PM, and then I have an hour or so drive. I'll probably be too late, after a shower, to join in any dinner plans.

I'm thinking along those lines too. Friday, I think should be a simple, informal dinner. We'll all have just driven pretty far, we'll all be tired, and the big event is Saturday night.
I think it would be fine if we have a few different groups going to different places.
But again, I'd like a simple, informal group at a simple restaurant.

We should be up for dinner somewhere.
Our preference would be a local restaurant that may be memorable. Such as at SF05. But, we are flexible as long as it is NOT Pizza Hut or TGIFridays, etc.

The one thing you won't have to worry about will be "gourmet" food in the Gettysburg area (you have to go to Philly for that). Of the three restaurants/diners listed, here's how I'd put them:
1. Simple Option: Cross Keys or Lincoln Diner. Straightforward hamburgers/meatloaf/'blue plate' specials. Coffee/softdrinks. May or may not have beer.
2. Scozzaro's Old Mill Inn- Cozy smaller place w/ bar next to dining room. Red-sauce Italian. Nothing that your 6 year old grandkids can't handle. Familiar Italian dishes. No surprises.
3. Sidneys: More contemporary, 'upscale' dining. For the more adventurous. Modern American.
There are also a couple of good restaurants (along with a good ice cream place) in the square which is about 5 miles from the hotel.
There you have it...and of course, there are all the usual, homogenized fast "food" places on Rt 30. I'm sure that within a 15 minute drive in either direction you will be able to find Popeyes, KFC, McDooDoos, Burger Chef and all the others.
