I'm not much for fruit eating.
Funny you should say that, I hate fruit, although I do eat 1/2 of a banana every day with breakfast. Otherwise, I never touch the stuff.

I was starting to think I was the only one.

We have a farmer's market which is terrific but expensive. I did get some tomatoes there, which tend to be better than the commissary. And I got some little cukes to make a tomato/cuke salad. Another yummy combo. Just put some salad dressing on it and marinate for awhile - I prefer Italian. But I only get fruit there if it's not available at the commissary, which has prices that still amaze me. One major benefit of military service. And we are fortunate to live five minutes from one (Ft Myer).

Had some of the grapes and cherries last night. Both delish.

My mother was the total opposite. See loved it. Ate it everyday, seemingly non-stop and all kinds. Trust me, it didn't stop her from getting cancer.

I enjoy most fruit, so it is hard to vote. I usually will eat some frest fruit in the evening, instead of other snaks. I stay away from canned fruit except for pineapple.

I have recently discovered a farmers market that I've been driving by every Friday. When I leave my volunteer job, there's one in the Sears parking lot in Laguna Hills. I was going to buy salad makings (I love salad) so I decided to try them before hitting Trader Joes. I ended up getting cucumbers, a fresh ripe tomato (for Jerry), corn on the cob, radishes (too hot), one apple and the best avocado I've had. In the avocado booth, the man behind the counter is also the grower, and he asks what you need it for. I can't remember the type of avocado but it's not Hass. They are huge. For "tonight's salad" he picks one ready to go but firmer than for guacamole, but not as firm as one for "the next four days". He's friendly and fun. I still went to Trader Joes for pre cleaned and packaged lettuces, and broccoli/cauliflower/carrots.

I'm a seasonal gorger and I like local. Strawberries, then rasberries, early cherries and early peaches, just finished nectarines, then more cherries and second round of peaches, then come Fall it's endless varieties of apples. Bananas, mangos, and navel oranges are year around. In the winter while in Florida, it's citrus all day every day. Had to give up grapefruit for the statins. It's a lot of sugar, but I love all fruit.
Right now I'm supplementing with onions, bib lettuce, sweet corn, and tomatos.
